Airport Expansion

To attract tourism a country must offer modern, well-maintained airport facilities that can safely support large jet aircraft. Working closely with a sovereign government, BARBAR helped its client establish a public-private partnership to expand and operate the airport in the nation’s capital city. This project included financing from the government of Brazil arranged by the Brazilian construction company selected to expand and maintain the facility. Debt repayment and ongoing infrastructure maintenance was financed through an increased facilities use tax.
